Derby Days is a Canada and USA wide greek event where each chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity host a week-long competition for sororities on campus to raise money for local and global charities. At Sigma Chi Lamda Theta, we raise money for the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the Children’s Hospital for Eastern Ontario (CHEO). In 2017 our chapter raised almost $16500! This would not have been possible without the incredible efforts of the sororites involved: Delta Delta Delta, Alpha Phi, Theta Sigma Psi, Xi Delta Theta, Nu Sigma Pi, Zeta Theta Xi, Alpha Omicron Pi, Delta Phi Epsilon, Omega Phi Sigma, Alpha Pi Phi, Kappa Beta Gamma and Phi Sigma Sigma. We are very thankful to all of these sororities for all of their hard work and dedication.

Huntsman's Cancer Institute
The Huntsman Cancer Institute is dedicated to finding the causes of cancer, developing new and better treatments, and preventing people from ever developing cancer. Huntsman founded HCI to focus on understanding cancer from its very beginnings and to translate this knowledge into safer and more effective treaments. HCI was chosen as Sigma Chi’s preferred philanthropy because many Sigs and their families have been directly affected by cancer.
